The City of Midland is located between Fort Worth and El Paso. This community offers residents and visitors parks, historical sites, museums, and much more.
Midland City Council announced in 2014 plans to create a new six-acre neighborhood park. What would be the city’s 32nd neighborhood park is located beside Midland Elementary School and a residential community recreation center.
The city put out a request for quotes on the playground portion of the park, which listed specific criteria including play structures for children 2-5 and 5-12 years old, shade, and site amenities.
Design Consultant, David Kitch of Playgrounds Etc. wanted to present a design that was more than just a standard playground, which offered a themed element that the city didn’t even know they needed.
