SRP Playgrounds designed and manufactured this inspiring pirate-themed playground for Palencia Park in St. Augustine, Florida. The original Pirate Park was installed 12-15 years ago when the Palencia community started to develop. It became a local icon with the community, so it was adamant that the style and essence of the park remain. The playground was created utilizing SRP's recycled play product line. The product is made from recycled milk jugs resulting in a long-lasting and low maintenance product. Construction was completed on August 15, just in time for the beginning of the new school year. The park is adjacent to Palencia Elementary School.
This structure gives children 2 to 12 years old the ultimate pirate experience. The overall design concept features two "dueling" ships, which is a unique element that no other community has. Moreover, this play environment has an extensive drainage system that keeps the play area high and dry. Members of the Palencia community as well as the adjoining school, Palencia Elementary, use the playground daily.
